The Friday before Halloween, we hit up our friend’s brother’s haunted forest. It was kid friendly and the kids seriously loved it. I think Eva went through six times. They were all so cute running through and telling us what to watch out for! Unfortunately, it was a bit rainy that night and Finn was crabby from teething (in fact, we switched off sitting in the car with him since he fell asleep), but we still had a good time catching up with friends.

On our way home, we decided to swing by Gardner Village since that was on my Fall to-do list and I really wanted to see the witches there! We didn’t stay long, considering it was past 9 pm when we arrived and it was a bit rainy. But it was still fun to blow off the kids’ bedtimes and just have a fun Friday night out! Usually I’m so big about getting the kids to bed right at seven, so when we stay out (especially on a weekend), it’s a special treat! Oh, and splitting a caramel apple sure made things nice 🙂 !

On the Friday before Halloween, Eva had her special Halloween party and presentation for the parents at preschool. They were all so cute, dressed in costume, singing and dancing to the songs they had worked so hard on! She really loves this new school and her teachers!

We trick or treated at TJ’s dad’s work on Friday afternoon. They always put on such an awesome, huge party! So many amazing decorations, tons of candy and treats, it’s was a highlight of our Halloween for sure!

On Saturday night, we had our church’s Trunk or Treat party. I used one of our old moving boxes to paint a monster face to put in the trunk. We had some old Easter basket filling, which I used as his hair, and topped it with a witch hat! We had such a nice evening!

TJ was out of town a lot in October, so we tried to keep really busy to pass the time. One Monday Evening for FHE, I took the kids to the farm and they happened to have some little games and crafts that night set up for the kids. Eva loved making her jack-o-lantern cat and scarecrow and Finn loved rolling the pumpkins everywhere, ruining all of the kids games.

We have Pass of All Passes (seriously, such an amazing deal) and checked out Lehi Fun Center’s Fall festival one afternoon. As usual, that place needs some serious renovation and upkeep. But it never fails to provide hours of fun for my kids! Eva loved the bounce houses, she did the maze one probably ten times! And the corn pit with slide was also pretty cool! Another free, Fall activity… can’t beat that!

I’ve been really enjoying going to High Fitness classes recently. I’ve been going to them about three times a week, one week I went four times because there was an extra class to raise money for our friend’s daughter who is fighting cancer. It was so amazing to see how many people showed up to support this sweet girl. There was also a special class the Thursday before Halloween where we all dressed up in costume. It was my kind of Halloween party! Come with me next class!

Thanksgiving Point’s Ashton Gardens had a neat Scarecrow Festival going on for a week in October. We met up with some friends there one afternoon and were delightfully surprised how much fun it was! There were so many neat scarecrows, the gardens were still beautiful, and it was just a perfect Fall day to be outside!

We loved it so much, we went back with TJ and Hannah on Saturday. We seriously have loved our Thanksgiving Point pass. Getting to do stuff like this for free? Amazing!

We checked out Jaker’s Pumpkin Patch down in Springville with my sister-in-law and Eva’s cousins the last week of October. We had such a pleasant October, that day was so warm! The kids played in the corn pit, fed some animals (saw our first Kangaroo, which made the Aussie blood in me so happy!),  did the hay mazes, loved the slides, went on a tractor ride, and got to pick some pumpkins to take home.

When my parents left, I was too sad to go home, plus TJ was out of town, so we headed to my in-laws to cheer us up. We played in the leaves in the backyard and it definitely did my heart good seeing those cute kids of mine out there!

My parents got to visit for a long weekend in October since it was my mom’s Fall break. My brother also got to come for part of their trip, it was nice to have them all in town!

On Friday morning, while Eva was in school and my dad got some work done, my mom, Finn and I hiked the Battle Creek Falls trail. It was such a beautiful hike that morning and fun to show her a new place she hadn’t been to before. When Eva was done with school, we went to the farm and then headed up to Temple Square/City Creek for the evening. We got to watch one of the new Mormon Messages clips and it was so great. I wish we could have seen more! Make sure you check those new clips out at the visitor’s center.

Saturday, my mom and I went to a High class early that morning and then we all went to Cornbelly’s for a few hours. It was such a nice day, it even got a little too hot for the kids! After having lunch, we went on a drive and little walk up at Cascade Springs, which none of them had been to. It was a bit crowded, but the leaves on the drive made up for it! That evening, my parents graciously babysat the kids while TJ, Sam, and I went to Vivint’s work party where One Republic sang. I didn’t know much about them but it turns out I actually know a bunch of their songs. It was an awesome concert and so much fun to have my brother with us!

My brother left Sunday morning, we went to church, then just took it easy around the house. It was really cold and windy that day, unfortunately. But we did take my parents to TJ’s office in Lehi, just to get out for a bit.

Let’s see… Monday we went shopping at the outlets, walked around Cabela’s, and ate at Tsunami for dinner. It was delicious, but now I know why Asians are all so skinny. After eating all the sushi, I felt like I could eat a whole other meal! Ha! We finished the night off getting gelato at Harmon’s.

On Tuesday, my parents headed home and I pretty much cried nonstop for the next three days 🙁 ! It was just so nice to have them visit! I miss them so much already. Just move out here, already!
