Spaghetti with Garlic, Olive Oil, and Chili Flakes + Italian Sausage Meatballs
Spaghetti Recipe
Ingredients
- 7 ounces of spaghetti
- 2 large or 3 small garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of chili pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
Directions
The measurements in this recipe can be shifted depending on your taste preferences.
- Cook spaghetti according to the directions on the package, until it is al dente.
- Strain spaghetti and place in a large serving dish.
- Add minced garlic, chili pepper flakes, olive oil, salt, and pepper, and mix together well.
- Serve with meatballs and shredded parmesan cheese.

Meatball Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage (or ground turkey/beef)
- 1/2 Italian style bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup uncooked barley
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t Italian seasoning
- 1/4 t basil
- 1/4 t garlic powder
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1/2 t Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg
Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. You can either roll the mixture into Tablespoon sized balls or use a greased mini muffin pan. It was the first time I tried the mini muffin pan idea, but I will definitely use this method from now on.
Heat oven to 400 °F and cook for 15-20 minutes.
