Pioneer Day
Pioneer Day is a holiday in Utah on the 24th of July to celebrate the day the pioneers with Brigham Young crossed into the Salt Lake Valley back in 1847. It’s almost as big as the 4th of July around here, so since I was out of town for the 4th, it was fun to be back here with TJ to celebrate Pioneer Day together.
He had the day off because it was a summer Friday (Have I told you about those? Every other Friday in the summer if TJ works until 6 through the workweek, TJ is off work… best thing ever). We got up early and headed up to Salt Lake City to watch the parade. Honestly, I didn’t think it was as good as last year-the floats weren’t as impressive but it was still really fun and we had a good time. Here were my favorites… and since I’m so behind on blogging, I’m just using unedited photos right off my phone. Better than nothing!
In the evening, we went over to TJ’s sister’s house for some fireworks. Eva wanted to like them so much but the noise was a little much for her. I look like a huge monster here, but at least I’m a monster in a cute Mexican dress!
It was a fun time! To see last Pioneer Day’s video, click here.
