A Saturday at BYU

My friend Hannah was in town a few weeks ago and she needed a few things from the BYU bookstore, so we all headed down there and walked around campus reminiscing. It was the first time Finn has walked around campus, and I loved thinking about him and Eva one day going to the same college their parents went to. Go cougars!

HIGH Classes

Here’s a glimpse into our classes! They are still pretty small for the most part, but it’s been fun to meet new people and practice so much! I’ve learned that sore is the new normal for me because four classes is A LOT but I love it!

Lagoon 2017

My father-in-law had a Lagoon day for his work so we all got to go to the amusement park for free the first Friday of June. It wasn’t terribly busy and the weather was just perfect. I didn’t ride much since I had that stomach bug earlier in the week, but we all still had a blast. Probably the best part was when we went on the water rapids ride. We all fit into one big float thing and we even took Finn with us. I don’t think we really thought it through because it was so heavy from six adults and four kids, we got SOAKED. Finny was in shock and definitely wasn’t a fan, but he lived and at the end kept saying, “All done! All done!!” Too funny! Thanks for a good time!

HIGH Fitness Lehi Launch Party

My friend Holly and I now teach four HIGH classes a week at a dance studio here in Lehi and to kick it all off, we had a launch party on June 1. We made the playlist weeks in advance so I would have to time to learn the songs. I practiced my heart out, we advertised like crazy, and had it all scheduled. I felt prepared but then the night before I started feeling sick. I threw up a bunch that night and then didn’t eat much at all the next day. I thought it was food poisoning but I’m pretty sure it was a short 24 hr bug now because TJ and Finn got the same thing a few days later. Anyway, it was pretty disappointing. I almost didn’t even go. I cried so hard that night… all of my hard work! I had friends who were coming just for the support! I couldn’t NOT go. Thankfully, I felt decent enough even though I felt very weak, so the show went on! We had a huge turnout and it was such a great time. I nearly blacked out a few times and had to sit to the side a few times (which was completely embarrassing at the time, but whatever!) but overall, it was great. Thanks to everyone who came out that night. It meant so much to me! Come again to another class 🙂 M/W 9:30 am, Th 8:30 pm, Sat 8:30 am… find us on Instagram at HighFitnessLehi.

Playgroup

For my calling at church, I’m in charge of a very informal playgroup for the neighborhood. We occasionally do bigger planned activities, but most of the time, I’ll just post about meeting up at the park or splash pad. Here are pics from some of our meet ups!

Pool Dayz

This summer we have gone to the pool nearly every day. It’s free, the kids love it, and it’s easy. Eva is becoming quite a good swimmer and Finn could splash and jump in all day long. Some days we will even go twice. In the morning, and then for dinner. I’ll bring a picnic dinner and pajamas, so when we go home, it’s off to bed! We’ve gotten into a pretty great routine this summer and I love it. Here are some photos from our days at the pool so far!

Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge

Isn’t it funny how when you’re at home, your kids have tons of energy and are running around driving you nuts. But then as soon as you get out, suddenly they want to be carried or feel too tired to do what the parents want to do? Well, the day we hiked to the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge, this exact scenario happened. Eva was running around that morning and then when we got on the hike, she was complaining immediately. But after about fifteen minutes, she finally got into it and then loved the bridge! The hike down was much easier and quicker (although my stupid shoes rubbed blisters, so that was rough!) and Finn did great on my back. Still loving that Ergo carrier! If you haven’t been do this bridge, you’ve got to check it out! It’s just in Draper and is a really neat hike with beautiful views of the valley.

Manilla Creek Pond

There’s this cute little pond in Pleasant Grove we went to one afternoon at the end of May with our neighbors. It was such a hot day, then of course by the time we got there, a storm was about to blow through. But the kids still had a good time digging in the sand for an hour!

7 Years

We had our 7 year anniversary on May 22nd. We didn’t do much on that day to celebrate since we had just gone to Arizona, but we did go on a date that weekend to the Gateway for dinner. TJ sure is a catch!

Eva’s Preschool Graduation

Eva graduated from Pre-K at the end of May. I can’t believe how quickly this year went by. We absolutely loved the preschool she was at this year. Her teacher made her feel so special and did so many creative projects every single day. Eva made great friends and is always asking if we can go visit her teacher’s house.
