Organization: Part 1
On Saturday, I went to an activity at church for the women where they had a workshop about organization and interior design. It was extremely motivating and inspiring. So far, I’ve cleaned out my hall closet, medicine cabinet, and yesterday I cleaned out our clothes closet.
My goals for the organization:
- Put away heavy Winter clothes and get rid of things I don’t use
- Bring out Spring/Summer clothes
- Organize all of the shelves, boxes, and drawers
- Dust and clean the ground, nooks and crannies
- Put away Eva’s clothes that she has grown out of and bring out any clothes for summer that will fit her
- Find a solution for my garments because they are always falling out of the hanging shelf
- Make the above storage not such an eyesore
- Put like items together
Before
- Random stuff shoved up top
- Tights box all messy
- TJ’s shoes out of order
- Boxes messy and overstuffed
- More random stuff shoved above
During the Clean-out
I always cry putting away the clothes Eva has grown out of… I better have another girl one day!
After
- Odd shaped storage put together (still an eye sore but I don’t have the funds to fix it now!)
- Above storage organized and like items put together.
- Boxes organized and sorted through
I accomplished almost all of my goals. I even have two garbage bags worth of stuff to get rid of. The above storage is still an eyesore, but not as horrible. I’m going to Ikea on Friday, hopefully that will resolve some of the issues! Last night I just sat in there for a minute because I was so obsessed with how organized it was. Hopefully it’ll stay that way for a while!
Great work! That’s always such an awesome feeling!!
That is impressive!! That’s always such a daunting thing but it feels SO good when it’s done. My problem is keeping it nice and organized!
So I don’t even know how I found your blog, but alas, I follow. Anyway, I saw this: http://theofficetimemachine.com/ and I thought you might enjoy.
