My Eyes Have Seen the Glory

Apparently I’ve been on a long hiatus from blogging. A long break for me is going more than a few days and I believe it’s been more than a week. And it’s not because I don’t have anything to blog about (oh believe me, I have plenty to blog about), it’s just that I have been ridic.u.lous.ly busy.

So, I’ve got to get caught up, although it will probably take me a little while seeing that these next two weeks will be the busiest I’ve had in a while.

Tonight I want to talk about some odd things I’ve seen lately. In each instance, I literally have thought, “Wow, that’s kinda weird.” I should have taken pictures, dang it.

Examples:

  1. I was in the D.I. (our local thrift store) and saw this little girl walking down the same aisle as me. Then I saw something move on her shoulder. I gave a second glance and realized I wasn’t imagining anything. She had a parakeet sitting on her should. I later saw this girl sitting in a shopping cart and the bird was walking all over the car. Strange, right?
  2. On my way to drop T.J. off at work last week, I saw ducks doing something that looked moderately to extremely innaprope. Just on the sidewalk on BYU’s campus. But then I looked closer and realized it was two males ducks FIGHTING. And get this, there was a girl duck to the side watching. I passed the same spot later and they were still going at it. It looked brutal. By this time, there were a few boys standing and watching the whole thing. I kinda wanted them to break it up, but I guess you’ve got to let nature handle it’s own.
  3. T.J. and I parked the car on the Bell Tower Street last Friday after lunch and walked right by the Bell Tower when we saw the oddest thing of the week. A boy hula-hooping. But there’s more…. he was doing a dance and counting to himself out loud. Oh. My. Gosh. I felt so bad, but the laughter wouldn’t stop coming, I couldn’t control it. T.J. and I had to run down the steps because we couldn’t hold it in. Hula-Hoop choreography? Out in the public?? Maybe he was practicing to beat this guy:

Have any stories that beat these that have happened to you lately? I’d love to hear about them!
