End of the Summer Weightloss Goal
When T.J. left the first week of May, I decided to make a goal for weightloss. I wanted to lose 20 pounds by the end of August, so roughly five pounds a month. But it was more about losing pounds. I wanted to become more healthy. I wanted to take control of my life and get into shape.
August 31 has come and gone. I’m disappointed to say that I did not meet my mark. But I’m very excited to say that I did lose 17 pounds this summer, which is still a big deal! I’m very close to my goal, and I’m going to make it soon hopefully! My New Year’s Resolution was 30 pounds. So I have 13 pounds more to go for the whole year.
Here are some thoughts about this summer’s journey:
- After losing 15, the pounds have been much harder to lose.
- When I feel hungry but know I shouldn’t be, I drink a large glass of ice water. By the time I’m done, I feel more full and usually I’ve found myself something to do (it’s usually not hunger… it’s feeling bored!)
- Life is always going to be hectic or crazy. I’ve realized even if I just have time one day to do wall sits and crunches throughout the day, it’ll add up!
- I know one main reason I have been able to lose the weight is because I have stopped going out to eat on a regular basis. We used to eat out at least once or twice a week. Not only is that awful on the bank, it slaps pounds on your belly fast! So, I cut going out to eat except for special occasions. It makes those times you do get to go out, much more fun! And bonus, you save a lot of money.
- Although I’m not sure people can tell I’ve lost weight, I have dropped down a pants’ size and fit into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes much better! Physical results like that REALLY encourage me!
- Eating healthy and exercise not only helps you lose weight, but also dramatically helps your mental health. I feel better about myself, I’m more positive, and I have much more energy throughout the day.
- My whole life has changed because of this one goal. It is now a part of my life and I’m so happy I finally got the motivation to do it!
The first step is always the hardest.
But you’ll never regret it.
Here’s to 17 pounds in 4 months! Yeah!
