Let the bed bugs BITE!

Thursday. I went up to T.J.’s parents’ home again  because I had a lot of work to get done for my dad and I needed some help with Eva. She was quite a handful because of some stomach issues, thank goodness for all of my in-laws’ help! I made dinner for his fam to thank them and then we watched Parks and Rec and The Office together. Weren’t both of those show hilarious?

Bachelor {Watching} Party

Every Monday night, Eva and I head on over to my friend Sarah’s house with a bunch of other girls and watch The Bachelor. I’ve never watched the show until the finale of The Bachelorette last season, nor did I ever have any desire to watch the show. But watching it with a bunch of girls each week where we make fun of almost every line (they compare every date to relationships… “If we can climb this mountain, we will be able to climb the mountains we face in marriage.”) Anyway, it’s a fun girls’ night each week that I really look forward to.

This week, most girls dressed up because it was Valentine’s day on Tuesday. I was up in AF for the majority of the day so I didn’t get to dress up, but check out some of these girls! Mostly Erin who wore her prom dress from High School. She’s awesome. They’re all awesome!

The group. Believe it or not, there were even more but they left before we took the photo.

The start of the “Prom-ish” photos

I guess I was Kathleen’s date, so we decided for our pose, I would touch her tiny baby bump.

Then I realized it was really creepy/weird/bizarre that we were doing this and said, “What will our husbands think when they see these photos?!”

But that didn’t stop Sarah and Erin from taking some reenactment photos of when Ben proposed to the Bachelorette last season.

Hannah put Eva on a plate. Don’t know why it was so cute, but it just was.

And to top it all off, gotta love how Ben looks like Francine from Arthur.

The Bachelor Club

Well, it happened. I am now one of those girls who watches The Bachelor. But before you start judging me, just know that the main reason I got into it is because a couple of girls in my ward watch it together each week and it’s just about the BTOML. We all chat about how crazy the girls are, eat way too many snacks, and gossip about who we think will get kicked off next. We would love to have you join us… we watch it on Mondays at 9:15.

So, for all the rest of you Bachelor followers, I want to know who is your favorite? I love Kaycee B from Tennessee. I think she is darling! And my least favorite is that model girl he went on a date with. She is so full of herself and has ZERO personality.

And I can’t believe I just wrote a whole post about this show. How embarrassing.

Ring Out Wild Bells

I hadn’t really taken time to think about my new year’s resolutions, but after watching The Office episode today where Pam makes everyone write down one goal for the year, I decided I should write mine down too.

  2. Go to the temple once a month
  3. Hold an FHE every Monday

  5. Remember to do family prayer every night
Health Goals
  1. Get down to my wedding weight
  2. Make 3-4 dinners a week
  3. Be able to run a mile without stopping… I know that sounds really easy, but I have never been a runner!
  4. Work out 4 times a week
  5. Eat more fruits and vegetables
Personal Goals
  1. Stick to our budget
  2. Read at least one book a month
  3. Always show my husband that I love him
  4. Be patient
  5. Take more photos and videos of Eva

The Sea Monster Died!

Yesterday one of our friends told us that Darryl from The Office died.

Considering I’m one of the biggest Office fans ever, I freaked out! I couldn’t believe it, nor could I believe that I wasn’t one of the first people to know about it!

Two minutes later, we were searching the web and figured out that it was not Darryl who had passed away, but Lonny–one of the warehouse workers from the earlier seasons.

Kelly Kapoor: Excuse me, Sea Monster, you weigh like a thousand pounds.
Lonny: Yeah?
Kelly Kapoor: Yeah.
Lonny: I bet you’d like to swim with this sea monster, wouldn’t you?

Sad day.

We’re number one!

Guess what! I am the most pregnant woman at my doctor’s practice! By a long shot, too… Everyone due last week have had their babies and everyone due THIS week have already had their babies too. Except for me. It turns out my baby just is really competitive and is already the best at something even though she’s still in the womb! How many babies (well, their moms) get to say that?

The doctor says that there still is no progress at all down in the ol’ baby region, but all the tests went well today, so I get to spend another couple days at home with a full night’s sleep. I thought they were going to induce me on Thursday, but turns out they start the process on Wednesday afternoon… 3 PM to be exact. More deets to come. Stay tuned!

Until then, you better believe I’m going to try to sleep a lot and “treat myself.”

Lucky 7

  • My mom flies in tomorrow to help with the baby that is still in my belly! I can’t wait to see her. T.J. is so busy with school right now so it will nice to have her around to distract me and keep me company.
  • I need to clean the basement. I’ve been saying that for months. But it REALLY needs to be done. “Beer me strength to clean the basement!”
  • That reminds me, The Office and Parks and Rec last night were both incredible. Seriously, these seasons have been amazing. Who knew that The Office was going to be this great without Michael Scott!? I’m probably the biggest Michael Scott fan out there, or one of, but I’m not ashamed to say that I still love the show without him. Robert California is hilarious and I’m loving that they’re finally back to old-school Jim and Dwight pranks again. And then Parks and Rec… how tender was that episode? And didn’t you think the whole Gary/Jerry thing was awesome? Great night on NBC.
  • Is anyone else wanting snow? If it’s going to be this cold, I kind of wish it was snowing. It would add to the Christmas atmosphere, ya know?
  • I watched Water for Elephants for the last time last night. First of all, I thought it was really good overall. But, man… the circus manager was so wicked. I had to close my eyes over and over because of how horrible he was to the elephant and to his wife.
  • I’ve been drinking some Sprite today because I’m feeling nauseous. I feel like instead of helping my stomach feel better, it makes me think I’m sicker than I really am because it’s what I would drink when I was a kid if I had the flu. Does that make sense?
  • I had a Crevening (Craft Evening) this week with my friends Erin and Rachel. It was a blast. Rachel made these adorable Christmas trees made out of magazines, Erin made homemade snow globes, and I made a car seat cover. All in all, it was a success. If you ever want to join us for a Crevening, let me know. We try to make it happen once a a month.

“Turkey day is the most fun day!” -Martha Stewart

  1. I can’t sleep very much anymore. I sleep for like four or five hours then wake up. That of course makes me extremely tired and so then after a couple of hours, I’m ready for another round of sleep. It’s awful and each cycle is filled with vivid dreams of the baby. Yesterday I dreamt that the baby finally started to breast-feed, she fell out of her cradle (that was awful), and then was old enough within a couple of days to play in the bathtub with those bath marker things. Bizarre stuff.
  2. Everyday I hope there will be snow. I think it’s because we have our tree up now and I feel like, if there’s snow out there, it doesn’t make me as crazy for putting the tree up before Thanksgiving. So, this 50 degree weather is really out of place.
  3. T.J. and I are contemplating so hard about getting an Xbox with Kinect for Christmas. It will be really inexpensive at Walmart on Black Friday. We never buy big things like that though, heck I won’t even buy jeans that are more than $30. BUT I LOVE THE KINECT! It is so much fun, a great workout, and could be our gift to each other for Christmas. On the other hand, it still is a lot of money. And we have a baby on the way that will cost a lot. Tell me what to do!
  4. My cold is almost gone! It only took three weeks.
  5. My doctor said no progress still down there with the baby stuff. So, I said, “Well, at least it won’t come on Thanksgiving.” And then he replied, “You can say that on Friday.” Being a ticking time bomb is kind of crazy.
  6. I get to make my pies today for Thanksgiving! Can’t wait! Which reminds me, how do YOU say “pecan”?
  7. The news is on in the background and it’s showing all the holiday traffic and snowy roads through the country. It’s making me kind of happy that we are staying here and not dealing with it. But I sure am missing my family!
  8. Did I buy eggnog at the store yesterday? You better believe it. (Don’t worry Mom, it’s lowfat).
  9. Yesterday I got a check in the mail from Winder Farms. I only worked there for a couple of weeks back in March and I already got paid for that time. So, it was completely out of the blue and so random. Seriously, it was so awesome that I started crying immediately. hahaha, oh I’m ridiculous.
  10. Random story: Last week I tried to wake T.J. up for work at 7 but he was up until 5 am working on projects for school. So, he told me to text his boss for him to tell her she’d be late. I asked what I should say and he replied, “Fun house mirrors.” I said, “T.J. that doesn’t make sense.” He said, “They always make sense.”
  11. Martha Stewart is on the Today show. Some of the reporters went to her house for a Thanksgiving dinner and to see her farm. How many people do you think help Martha? Does she even help anymore? She just said she is grateful for her grandchild… she has kids? Do you think she always was amazing at crafts? Why is she wearing leggings on the show? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
  12. I can’t wait to see The Muppets! I laughed so hard when I first saw this clip…

Who is Justice Beaver?

My friend just posted this quote on his Facebook wall. I completely forgot about it. Enjoy.

“Newborns are Slippery.”

Last Saturday, my friends threw me a baby shower and it was just lovely, plus it was great to catch up with old friends. We got a lot of gifts, including a diaper jeanie, playmat, clothes, and books. All we need now is the baby!

Check out this spread… don’t I have the greatest friends?

Thanks to Hannah, Erin, and Amanda for all that they did! The baby and I appreciate it!

Oh, and to go along with the title of this post… make sure you watch this clip from The Office: Baby Shower episode.
