Book Mobile
Early this year, a friend of mine posted on her blog of an adorable mobile she made out of an old book. Last night I finally made it! For the tutorial on The Thimble Life, click here.

Wednesday night, T.J. and I had a crevening together! I wish we could have one every night because it was so fun working on projects together!
Here’s what he did:
Amazing, right? T.J. is so talented! It’s the first time he’s ever done a 3D pumpkin but it certainly won’t be the last!
After showing you those awesome pictures, I’m embarrassed to show you my little craft. But it’s pretty good for my standard. And considering last time I tried to make bows for Eva, I threw them all away because they looked so bad… tonight went pretty well.
The best part is that all of the bows are on clips so they’re all interchangeable or can be used as hair clips once Eva’s hair gets longer.
Here is one my creations, inspired from Pinterest. Just some simple artwork for our living room. I had all the paper and paint on hand-all I had to buy were the frames which were $1 each at Walmart.
And, I thought I would share this cute photo. At the end of one of our Book of Mormon study sessions last week, T.J. was zonked out. Needless to say, he had to go back and reread 🙂 Also, you get to see how big the LoveSac is. It takes up a lot of room, but it is soooo comfortable!
My friend and I were discussing the other day how it’s so cool now to DIY. If you DAY (do anything yourself, as in homemade), it’s automatically awesome. This includes anything for your home or for your closet (oh man, if you DIY your own clothes people will love you!).
It’s also really cool to bake/cook from scratch. Oh, and if you’ve got your own garden, or better yet… have your garden in your DIY pots, then you’ve reallllly made it to the top of the list.
Now, rewind back to when our parents were growing up and starting their families. My friend said her mom canned food and made her kids’ clothes, but would never want to tell anyone because times were just different. Isn’t that so funny? We are so excited to post it on our blogs (let’s be honest, it’s probably the main reason we even DIY) but they didn’t even want people to find out about it!
So, let’s hear it. What are some of your current DIY projects? I’d love to hear about them, so leave a comment or send me a link to your blog!
I don’t do this often, but I NEEDED to post about my new favorite blog (Hannah, don’t be jealous, I love you too). My friend Emily Judd, the writer of Make, Bake, and Take, is the most crafty person I know. Almost everyday, or at least a few times a week, she posts a new shirt or dress that she created. Check her blog out!
Who’s that adorable little girl?
Oh, just my cute niece Claire.
Where did she get that awesome tutu?
Oh, just from her Aunt Katie who made it for her!
I can make one for you too, if you want.
