7 Months

My baby girl turned 7 months on July 8. Holy cow, from month 6 to 7, she has developed more than I could have ever imagined. Not only is she growing taller and well, wider (she’s now 18 pounds), Eva is getting so smart and her body is becoming more and more capable.

Eva rolls from side to side, belly to back, back to belly, she basically a steam roller these days. She still hasn’t gotten the scooting down because who needs to scoot when your mom can help you walk? No, she’s not really walking (and that is more than okay with me!), but she loves taking baby steps when holding on to my hands.

No longer does Eva sleep all swaddled up. She got too strong between month 6 and 7 and would wiggle her arms right out of there. That was a rough couple of days, but she got used to it and now it’s for the best since she rolls all around when she sleeps.

Eva loves to giggle and smile. She flirts with just about everyone when we go out and gives them a big grin. I couldn’t ask for a happier baby.

Except when she cut her bottom teeth last week. Wow. That was not a fun experience. I guess it seemed so awful because I’m not used to her crying without being consolable. She would wake up in the middle of the night screaming and nothing would sooth her. Not a bottle. Not a toy. Not rocking. Not bouncing. It was no fun and most especially, just so sad to see her in pain and know there was nothing I could do to help her. But those two little guys made their appearance last Monday and she’s been pretty good ever since.

Eva got on a great routine when we got back from Kentucky. She wakes up at about 6:30 on the dot every morning. I feed her and she falls back to sleep until about 9. At 11:30 or so, I put her down for a two hour nap. Then another nap at about 4. She goes to bed at 8. Life is good! I’m still a firm believer in sleep training and getting your baby on a schedule. It makes a huge difference in their lives, as well as yours!

So, there you have it! Cute as a button!

Likes

Peas, oatmeal with fruit, popsicles, playing with her bottle, swimming, taking baths, listening to her nursery rhyme CD, rocking in her swing to the music, babbling, going on walks, drinking out of my water bottles, smiling, rolling around, dogs, watching kids run around, typing on my keyboard.

Dislikes

Being bored or lonely, keeping quiet at church, having a toy taken away from her, getting her face wiped, cutting teeth, scooting, not being able to walk.
