BBQ w/ College Buddies

TJ’s old college roommate had us over one Friday in July and the kids all were thrilled to get to stay up late and have s’mores. They have this amazing backyard and so they all were entertained for hours exploring together and playing. When we got home, it was 11 pm (live up summer, right?) and I would have thrown them right into bed but the kids were FILTHY. Seriously. So. Much. Dirt. I’m laughing just thinking about it. If that’s any indication of how much fun we had, then we sure had a blast!

Wrapping Up June

Here are the rest of the photos from June that didn’t get their own posts!

Eva has playdates at our house at least once or twice a week and their favorite thing to do is make a “picture sale.” They make lots of pictures and try and sell them for astronomical prices to our neighbors.

We love going on walks in the neighborhood and right now, there’s tons of construction going on which Finn loves checking out.

We got to go to the opening of R&R BBQ for a free dinner… it was SO good! Can’t wait to go back!

We went to Coconut Cove a few times in June. It’s our favorite indoor play area. SO clean and fun for all ages.

Concert in the park with the kiddos while TJ was out of town. Finn put on our neighbor’s boots and thought they were the best thing he’s ever seen. He was such a ham that night and making all of the families around us laugh.

We hate two days of 100 degrees but both days we had like 10 minute thunderstorms in the middle of the day. It was so fun… we don’t get many storms, let alone rain, in Utah. So, we went outside and played in the rain!

We still go to the library at least once a week. Finn found lots of dinosaur books this time and can’t get enough. They had a thing going on this week where you could bring in your cans of food and trade them in to pay off your fines. It was the best.

Lagoon 2017

My father-in-law had a Lagoon day for his work so we all got to go to the amusement park for free the first Friday of June. It wasn’t terribly busy and the weather was just perfect. I didn’t ride much since I had that stomach bug earlier in the week, but we all still had a blast. Probably the best part was when we went on the water rapids ride. We all fit into one big float thing and we even took Finn with us. I don’t think we really thought it through because it was so heavy from six adults and four kids, we got SOAKED. Finny was in shock and definitely wasn’t a fan, but he lived and at the end kept saying, “All done! All done!!” Too funny! Thanks for a good time!

Pool Dayz

This summer we have gone to the pool nearly every day. It’s free, the kids love it, and it’s easy. Eva is becoming quite a good swimmer and Finn could splash and jump in all day long. Some days we will even go twice. In the morning, and then for dinner. I’ll bring a picnic dinner and pajamas, so when we go home, it’s off to bed! We’ve gotten into a pretty great routine this summer and I love it. Here are some photos from our days at the pool so far!

End of Summer Bucket List: Update

In August, I wrote down what I wanted to do for the last two weeks.

Go to our pool at least six more times. Two times a week. Did it… in fact, we went nine times.
Hike Timp. Okay, this can be done in September if needs be. Plans are in the works for this.
Two more hikes with Eva. Did one hike and one nature walk. That’ll do, pig. That’ll do.
Three more splash pads, including the one in Sandy (one a week). We went to five splash pads!
Seven Peaks two more times. Didn’t do this. I just didn’t have motivation to go since we have a pool on our street.
Outdoor movie (Rock Canyon) on the 29th. Nope. Didn’t get to go because of the one car issue.
One more concert in the Park (Wines Park) on the 21st. A last minute family birthday gathering happened on this date instead.
Utah State Fair (this is actually in September but I don’t want to forget!) Hasn’t happened yet.
Swim in a lake (this Saturday?) Eva did this.
Tube Provo river on the 19th or 26th (want to join??) Couldn’t find a babysitter 🙁
Dinner and play in the streams up at South Fork Park (sometime next week) Kind of did this twice.
Trip to Arizona (Labor Day Weekend) Done.

We didn’t do it all, but we certainly did a lot for two weeks!

Wrapping Up August

Can you believe we are already a week into September? Slow the heck down, life! It will be Christmas before you know it.

We all went to the dentist and I, unfortunately, had to get my teeth worked on. But they had a TV (with The Office) on the ceiling so that wasn’t too terrible.

We went to the pool almost every day. img_0007-4

One day, Finn was giving me kisses which I clearly was obsessed with and so Eva started giving me endless kisses too.img_0006-4

We went to the farm twice. Once by ourselves and once with cousins. Finn loved getting out and walking around. He almost fed his fingers to the ponies.img_0005-4

Museum of Curiosity

We have genuinely loved having our Thanksgiving Point pass. We’ve used it countless times, one of the latest was at the Museum of Curiosity with some friends that were in town. They were some of our best friends back in Jersey and so it was great to see them and spend some time together again. The museum is so close, we can actually walk there which has been perfect since TJ takes the car to work about three times to work.

The museum was packed as usual, we are so excited that kids are back in school and it won’t be as busy, but we still had a great afternoon seeing all these kiddos play together!

Lagoon

TJ’s Dad had free tickets for all of us to go to Lagoon through his work at the end of July so all of us went up there one Friday! It was crazy hot and really busy, but we still had a good time hanging out together! The kids loved riding all the rides and Finn was pretty content all day long-like he didn’t cry at all and we stayed until 11!
